The gorgeous Mononoke movie is coming to Netflix later this month

Toei’s Mononoke the Movie: Phantom in the Rain from director Kenji Nakamura is one of this year’s most visually stunning anime films, and it’s making its way to Netflix in just a few weeks.

Like the Mononoke series, Phantom in the Rain tells the tale of an unnamed merchant (Hiroshi Kamiya) who, in addition to selling medicines, specializes in exorcizing “mononoke” — malevolent spirits who terrorize the living. When the Medicine Seller arrives at the imperial palace, his senses tell him that a mononoke is lurking somewhere deep within the building’s innermost chambers.

Marvel has its 2025 Disney Plus roadmap all laid out

It has been a while since the MCU really felt like a cohesive place, but Marvel’s new slate of upcoming Disney Plus shows makes it seem like the studio is ready to tighten things up.

Ahead of Agatha All Along’s season 1 finale tonight, Marvel shared a new sizzle reel highlighting all of its upcoming projects that will carry the MCU into its Sixth Phase. After Agatha All Along and Deadpool & Wolverine (which starts streaming on November 12th), the third and final season of What If…? is set to premiere on December 22nd. Jeff Trammell’s animated Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man series will debut the following month on January 29th, and introduce a new take on Peter Parker (Hudson Thames). For folks who have been waiting to stream Deadpool & Wolverine from the comfort of their couches, the time is nigh.

Today, Disney announced that Deadpool & Wolverine is finally making its way to Disney Plus on November 12th along with a commentary track from writer / director Shawn Levy and Ryan Reynolds. In… celebration of the film’s streaming debut, Disney is also rolling out a series of Deadpool & Wolverine bathroom “makeovers” at a handful of sports venues in Philadelphia, Memphis, and Columbus beginning today.

The Scary Movie franchise is getting a Wayans brothers reboot

Miramax is ready to put a new Scary Movie into theaters, and this time around, the studio is doing the sensible thing by keeping the Wayans brothers directly involved.

Deadline reports that Marlon, Shawn, and Keenen Ivory Wayans have signed on to co-write / co-produce a new Scary Movie reboot for Miramax that will, like earlier installments, spoof a variety of other horror films. Rick Alvarez (White Chicks, Little Man) is also set to co-write and produce.
