Google is adding a new daily calendar overview in newly opened Chrome tabs for Workspace users with easy access to schedules and video calls. That way, when you’re signed in with your organization’s account, the first thing you’ll see is your appointments and meetings, in addition to files stored in Google Drive.

The new feature comes alongside several other Google Workspace updates, including new enterprise-managed site shortcuts, which let IT set up quick links to frequently used sites on the URL dropdown.

Regular Chrome users could already set up site shortcuts for themselves — for instance, you could program it to bring up a site search for Reddit just by typing “red.” Now, a group policy can be applied to departments and...

YouTube creators can now break their videos up into different seasons and episodes to make them easier for viewers to navigate — and binge-watch — on TV. The upcoming feature comes as YouTube has increasingly been pushing into the living room, with YouTuber revenue on TVs up 30 percent year over year, according to the company.

Content creators can soon tailor their uploads for viewers in a format that looks very similar to Netflix and other streaming services when viewed on the TV, with full-screen episode descriptions and a hierarchy of seasons and episodes to navigate.

YouTube has not described how the new formatting will translate to desktop and mobile UI, but expect to see it in some form on all...

The Tesla Cybertruck gets a lot of hate for its polarizing design and even more polarizing creator. However, the Cybertruck also appears to be extremely popular, more popular than all the other electric trucks on the market, and Elon Musk may end up laughing all the way to the bank.

Tesla’s Cybertruck registrations in July almost match overall EV truck registrations in July, suggesting strong demand for the stainless steel low-poly truck, according to data from S&P Global Mobility as reported by Automotive News. Tesla’s overall vehicle sales also rose in July thanks to a boost from the Cybertruck.

Tesla delivered 5,175 Cybertrucks in July, compared to a combined 5,546 registrations of every non-Tesla electric truck, which includes the...

Meta, Snap, and TikTok have founded a new program called Thrive to help stop the spread of graphic content depicting or encouraging self-harm and suicide. Thrive enables participating companies to share “signals” to alert each other of violating content on their platforms.

Thrive is built in conjunction with the Mental Health Coalition, a charitable organization that says it works to remove the stigma around mental health discussions. Meta says it provides the technical infrastructure behind Thrive that enables “signals to be shared securely.” It uses the same cross-platform signal sharing tech used in the Lantern program, which is designed to help fight child abuse online. Participating companies can share hashes that match the...

Google is expanding a Chrome safety feature to help you cancel pesky website notifications with a single tap. It’s already available on Pixels and is coming to more Android devices; adding a simple unsubscribe button in the notification so that you can get rid of websites you didn’t mean to subscribe to, like horoscopes or weird facts about ducks (there’s also an undo button in case you actually do still want those weird duck facts).

There’s also an updated Safety Check running in the background to automatically revoke permissions from websites that you haven’t visited in a long time or are otherwise dangerous. You can see the actions taken in the summary panel, which lists other potential security concerns like compromised passwords and...

GM and EVgo are collaborating to build “flagship” EV charging stations at urban sites with a total of 400 EV charging stalls.

The flagship stations are cobranded by GM Energy, the automaker’s battery and charging division, and EVgo. The stations will be located in Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, Michigan, New York, and Texas at places with shopping, food, coffee shops, and other amenities.

Each station will include 20 fast charging stalls with units supporting up to 350kW speeds, pull-through stations, security cameras, and gas station-style canopies with ample lighting. The first locations featuring EVgo’s latest easy-deploying and modular prefabricated charging stations will open in 2025.

Stellantis, the European parent company of American brands Ram, Dodge, Chrysler, and Jeep, is retooling its Michigan plants to enable more electric vehicle production.

The automaker says it will put more than $400 million into three Michigan facilities to support its “multi-energy strategy,” enabling manufacturing of electric and gas versions of the same vehicles to be built in the same facilities. Most of the money will roll into the Sterling Heights Assembly Plant (SHAP), where the upcoming 2025 Ram 1500 Ramcharger, an EV truck with a gas-powered range extender, will be built alongside the all-combustion engine versions of the pickup.

SHAP will...
