Pausing Amyloid Fibrils Offers New Alzheimer’s Insight

25 October 2024 at 19:55
This shows neurons.Researchers have identified a unique β€œpaused state” in the growth of amyloid Ξ² fibrils, linked to Alzheimer’s disease, using high-speed atomic force microscopy. In this state, fibril growth is halted, allowing an antibody, 4396C, to bind and prevent further growth, opening a potential path to slow Alzheimer’s progression.
